Referee

This page has been set up as a central location for Referees working with NTSC. It will provide news, links, and other information for the Referees.

NTSC encourages parents and players to become referees.  Classes are hosted each winter and summer for new referees, and for re-certification for current referees.  For more information about how you can become a referee, please contact NTSC’s referee assignor, Rodney Harden.

Please be a teacher for U6s, U8s and U10s

Please remember to explain your calls to the players in all U6, U8 and U10 games. They need to learn from you, the expert!  Let the players in U6 & U8 Games redue their throwins 2 times if they need to get it right.

Also, use your hand signals…they need to learn what they mean……and so do many of the coaches.

What, where, when of NTSC

All referees officiating at NTSC home games are expected to:

  • Be at their assigned field 30 minutes prior to  game
  • Be in a full referee uniform;  shorts, shirt (tucked in) and socks.
  • Accept matches published assignments in required time.  Respond to phone calls within one (1) day. We will assume you are not interested in the games if we do not hear from you in this these time frames.
  • Review assignments when they are posted in Arbiter.
  • Keep up your Arbiter calendar.
  • If you must cancel an agreed upon assignment, this must be done at least two days prior to the assignment. (Of course illness or other unavoidable situation will waive this requirement.)
