Volunteering

As a full service non-profit soccer organization with various soccer programs, we require a significant number of volunteers to keep the programs running and provide value to our players, coaches, referees and parents. Use this page as guidance to help you better understand the expectations of each volunteer role within NTSC.   • Collectively make strategic and operational decisions affecting NTSC programs, activities and events
  • Elected at Annual General Meeting in May each year for 1-year terms

  • Maintain NTSC’s accounting books and records

  • Manage volunteers to assist with executing these duties

Director of Recreational Soccer
  • Responsible for all Recreational Soccer programs held throughout the year, including Fall Rec, Spring Rec, Summer Camps, Winter Training
  • Coordinates the activities of the Rec Soccer League Managers to delegate tasks and responsibilities
  • Determine the registration timing and cost for each program, including any limitations due to the number of registrants
  • Market the various Rec Soccer programs to increase participation
  • Respond to questions posed by parents and volunteers about the various Rec Soccer programs, via e-mail or telephone
  • Represent the interests of Rec Soccer programs at monthly Board meetings
  • Work with the Dir. of Uniforms to ensure sufficient supplies are available for the upcoming season’s programs
  • Maintain the spirit of Rec Soccer programs as primarily to keep the games and activities fun while providing training and structure to participants
Fall season: 10-20 hrs / wk before season; 5-10 hrs / wk during season

Director of Select Soccer
  • Coordinate the needs and activities of the Travel Soccer program
  • Provide strategic direction for the Travel program, including launching initiatives to improve the quality of play, development, etc.
  • Preside over meetings of the Travel Executive Committee
  • Distribute notices of significant Travel events, including tryouts
  • Provide the Dir. of Technology with required information to manage registrations for Travel soccer programs

Goal Fest 3v3 Tournament Director
  • Manage all of the tasks required to host the NTSC Goal Fest 3v3 Tournament
  • Manage the volunteers to organize the tournament as well as own responsibilities during the tournament, including: selling merchandise; staffing the HQ area; serving as Field Marshals during games; setting up tents or flags; erecting or taking down signs or goals, traffic control, etc.

Referee Coordinator
  • Manage the referee needs of the Recreational Soccer program
  • Solicit referees to work Recreational Soccer games

  • Primary responsibility for maintaining facilities utilized by NTSC in accordance with the Facilities Plan of NTSC
  • Work with representatives from King and other northen triad communities to maintain facilities, including field lining, mowing, lighting, etc.
  • Present strategic facilities needs to the Board for approval
  • Work with the Directors of Rec, Select, and Soccer Development to ensure sufficient facilities are available for the needs of those programs

Field Setup / Breakdown / Maintanence
  • Assist in the preparation of fields at the beginning of the season, including moving goal frames, hanging nets and anchoring goals
  • Assist in the breakdown of fields at the end of the season, including moving goal frames, removing nets and removing anchors

  • Assist the Facilities Coordinator, as needed

Merchandise Coordinator
  • Serve as primary liaison between NTSC and suitable merchandise vendors
  • Identify suitable vendors and solicit bids for providing NTSC-logo merchandise
  • Coordinate the distribution of all merchandise purchased
  • Identify innovative merchandise to offer for sale on NTSC website or at NTSC activities or events
  • Maintain and track inventory of merchandise available for sale

Fundraising Coordinator
  • Coordinate fundraising activities in order to meet the current and future financing needs of NTSC as determined by the Board

  • Issue periodic reports to the Board as to fundraising updates

  • Maintain all of the electronic assets of NTSC, including online registration, league management, scheduling, surveys, messaging, e-mail and other systems, as appropriate

  • Provide training, as necessary, to authorized NTSC representatives to use appropriate systems
  • Manage user names and passwords to all NTSC systems
  • Provide periodic reports to authorized NTSC representatives
